My stay at le Parados was life changing, I stayed there with my 3 children; ages 1, 2, and 3. At first, I was scared of the thought of a shelter but the staff was so accommodating. From the minute I picked the phone to call them with my problems they were so helpful, made my children and I feel welcome from the very first night. More importantly, they are genuine. Times like this you can feel so alone and so scared.
I remember time when I couldn’t sleep and someone was always there to listen and make me feel better. Times when I needed parenting advice, the child care worker would take the time to meet with me.
It shows this shelter’s been around for 25 years. They have amazing resources from furniture to alarm systems. Even after my stay, they take me on activities like apple picking and Disney on Ice, just to name a few.
Today, I am living alone with my three children and life hasn’t been better. Emotionally, I’m stronger and best of all the four of us are so happy. And it all started with le Parados and I never forget them!
